In recent high school sporting events:

Oak Hill 13, Summers County 8

On Tuesday, Rob Stephens went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs for undefeated Oak Hill.

Tyler Zimm also homered for the Red Devils (3-0).

Dustin Nuckels was the winning pitcher.

Seth Bower hit a grand slam for the Bobcats (1-5).

Liberty 6, Fayetteville 1

Summer Athey had 15 strikeouts as the Raiders improved to 4-0 Tuesday.

Katelyn Prince drove in two runs for the Raiders.

Pitcher Amy Holly had 13 strikeouts for host Fayetteville. She also drove in a run for the Pirate offense.

Shady Spring 4, Oak Hill 0

Emilea Lilly shut down Oak Hill on two hits and also doubled as the Tigers moved to 6-0 on the season.

Jayna Sayre and Rachel Smith each added two hits for Shady Spring.

Stefanie McKinney and Amanda Frantz had Oak Hill’s two hits.

Oak Hill 15, Liberty 6

Marcellas McFarland homered and drove in three runs in three at-bats as Oak Hill beat Liberty Monday.

Rob Stephens was 3-for-4 and Tyler Zimm scored three runs for the Red Devils (2-0). Jared Wolfe was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.

Wolfe earned the pitching win in relief of McFarland.

Brandon Toler and Luke Hodge both smacked doubles for Liberty (1-2).

Oak Hill led just 7-6 after three innings but plated four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings for the win.

Meadow Bridge 18, Mount Hope 3

The Wildcats’ Kelly Forren got the mound win in a two-hitter, in addition to registering a triple and two runs batted in at the plate.

Also for Meadow Bridge (2-0), Jacklyn Toney went 3-for-4 while Cayli Bolen (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Daonna Fox both delivered doubles. Christina Schmidle had one RBI, and Kristen Redden was 1-for-3.

C. Williams had two RBIs for Mount Hope, and L. Newman drove in one.

The annual Ponytail Classic, which attracts a good field of local softball squads, will be staged at Midland Trail High School from April 7 to 11.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $4 for students.

In other upcoming softball games, Fayetteville is slated to host Richwood today and visit Meadow Bridge tomorrow, Mount Hope hosts Montcalm Friday, and Oak Hill travels to Greenbrier West at 5 p.m. on April 3.
