Below is a look at two summer basketball camps planned in the county:
• The Oak Hill High School Basketball Camp will be held at the Lilly Center June 5-8.
The camp is for boys and girls in grades 1-8. Grades 1-5 will drill from 9 a.m. to noon, and grades 6-8 will go from 1 to 4 p.m.
Cost to attend is $40 per camper, $65 for two sibling campers or $85 for three sibling campers.
Registration deadline is Monday, May 29.
Oak Hill High coaching staff and current and former area players and coaches, including Dave Barksdale, will be instructing the fundamentals of basketball over the four-day camp. Awards will be given for “camper of the day” each day and to the winners of a daily competition.

• The John Flournoy Youth League Basketball Camp will be held June 12-15 at Midland Trail High School.
It will be for ages kindergarten to sixth grade.
The camps will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday.
The cost is $50 per camper ($55 walk-up). Each camper will receive insurance, a camp T-Shirt, individual instruction and be eligible for daily and weekly awards.
Instruction will be provided by the MTHS coaching staff as well as current and former area players and coaches. There will be daily guest speakers which include: John Flowers (former WVU player), Bob Williams (WVU Tech coach), and Mike Eades (NCAA referee).
The camp will consist of instruction on the fundamentals of basketball for the first three days and a day for putting it all together on Thursday. Awards will be awarded for “camper of the day” each day and to the winners of the daily competition.
