The visiting Meadow Bridge girls led by three points at halftime and kept Fayetteville at bay for a 49-40 victory.

MaKenzie Judy scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats (4-3). Lillian Claypool supplied 14 points and Chasity Ballenger 11.

Fayetteville’s Cassidy Roles led all scorers with 22 points, while teammate Brooke Spangler pitched in 11.

Meadow Bridge will host Paden City this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. as part of the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament. Fayetteville (0-10) will visit Valley Thursday.

Summers County raced to a 21-2 lead after eight minutes Thursday and eventually claimed a 77-42 verdict over the Fayetteville boys at the Fayette County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building.

Samuel Wykle netted 32 points and Dawson Lemon had 16 to pace the Bobcats (6-4).

For Fayetteville, Luke Vass tallied 13 and Gabe Mack and Wyatt Rinehart had nine each.

Fayetteville (1-8) is slated to play at Montcalm tonight.
