Oak Hill won both divisions of a middle school holiday basketball tournament last week at Fayetteville PK-8.

In the championship games on Dec. 21, Oak Hill rolled past Valley 33-10 in the girls game, and the Red Devil boys pulled away in the fourth period for a 43-28 verdict over Valley.

Jenna Maynor scored 10 points and Natalie Craddock eight for the OHMS girls. Raelyn Morris led the Greyhound girls with seven points.

Caleb Compton netted 14 and Carson Treadway 10 for the Oak Hill boys. Von Brockman led Valley with nine markers, and Tavion Woods chipped in eight.

The Valley boys led 24-23 with about 2:30 left in the third before Oak Hill finished with a flourish.

Summers County beat Fayetteville PK-8 in both consolation games. In the girls outing, Summers posted a 35-31 decision, while the Summers boys were victorious 37-17.

For the Pirates in the girls game, Amy Hollandsworth tallied 13 points and teammate Mia Calloway contributed 10. Also in the scoring column were: Kinzlee Dove, 6; and Kinzlee Hildebrand, 2. 

Jaelynn Boone led the Bobcats with 16 points. Other scorers were: Carly Persinger, 6; Destiny Farrish, 4; Ellie Meadows, 5; and Kenleigh Ellison, 4.

In the boys contest, Camryn Thomas scored a team-best seven points for Fayetteville. Also providing offense were: Carson Nicolau, 4; Andrew Hart, 2; Landen Bragg, 2; and Jaden Lewis, 2.

Damian Fullen poured in 22 points, including a trio of 3-point goals, for Summers. Other scorers were: Michael Willey, 4; Cody Snavely, 8; and Kailab Mitchem, 3.

The Midland Trail Patriots won 44-42 in a double-overtime girls thriller against the Peterstown Pirates in the opening round of the Mountain View Christmas tournament played on Dec. 19.

For Trail, Raygen Parsons scored 15 points to go along with seven rebounds. Rachel Pritt tallied 12 points, and Whitney Bibb had eight points. Also, Ava Campbell scored three points, handed out six assists and gathered five rebounds, Madison Rader scored three points while grabbing five rebounds, and Jessi Mooney scored three points and collected 10 rebounds.

Sherman 35

Midland Trail 17

The Midland Trail girls were overpowered by the host Sherman Tide 35-17 on Dec. 15.

Whitney Bibb scored eight points to lead Midland Trail. Raygen Parsons scored four points and supplied five rebounds and five steals. Ava Campbell contributed three points and five rebounds, and Rachel Pritt scored two points.
