In a high school golf match played at Bridge Haven on Thursday, Aug. 17 before Fayette County went back into red status, Midland Trail defeated Oak Hill, 123-137, under rainy conditions.

The Patriots were led by medalist Indy Eades, who fired a nine-hole score of 39 strokes.

Oak Hill, which was without the services of leading golfer Jack Hayes, who was participating in a soccer match, was led by Zane Wolfe's round of 43.

Midland Trail coach Jeff Eades said that Persinger birdied holes 6 and 8 for his best score as a Patriot, and Sheaves had his best round of the season.
